Not surprisingly, the Toronto Blue Jays' Yunel Escobar is drawing interest from Major League Baseball for all the wrong reasons after he sported what is widely interpreted as a derogatory slur on his eye-black. UPDATE: Tuesday, Sept. 18 at 3:31 p.m. ET

The message below Yunel Escobar's eyes was unmistakable. His intention in making such a statement is harder to decipher. Escobar, a Cuban-born shortstop for the Toronto Blue Jays, wore eye black during Saturday's game against the Boston Red Sox that

Toronto shortstop Yunel Escobar was suspended for three games Tuesday by the Blue Jays for wearing eye-black displaying a homophobic slur written in Spanish during a game last weekend.

Yunel Escobar wore eye black Saturday, and the words “Tu Ere Maricon” were written on them. That translates to “you're a faggot.” (Tim Tebow had a much better message during his Florida days.) The internet was consumed
